Workday was founded by industry veterans and software innovators Dave Duffield and Aneel Bhusri. Since its founding, Workday has become the leading provider of cloud-based Human Capital Management (HCM) and Financials applications for medium and large enterprises worldwide. Workday currently has a position open for a Software Engineer within the Development platforms team. This team builds scalable, cloud based instances of the Workday stack for Workday developers and testers, as well as the Workday Continuous Delivery pipeline. In support of the increasing demand, we are growing our team delivering Cloud based services to meet Workday’s Operational, Performance, Management and Operational needs. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a world-class Engineering team in Dublin, Ireland.

About the Role

The successful candidate :

Is a software engineer able to learn and chip in to a solution that scales to 1000s of users, while not requiring an army of heroes to maintain

Will help and contribute to building, testing and deploying this solution

Will be able to disagree and commit when needed

Will also be able to collaborate with team members in their technical growth, as well as help the team implement the best software development practices.

Responsibilities:

Work with geographically distributed teams to deliver development and testing environments in an automated, scalable, stable, self service way to our end users.

Use your fixing and triage skills to provide assistance to solve sophisticated operational and end users issues.

Implement improvement initiatives such as methodologies, standards, processes, and tools to make teams more efficient.

About You

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

4+ years software and systems delivery experience. Proven record of building scalable and maintainable solutions 

Experience in Linux Shell Scripting, Bash Scripting, Terraform, Bamboo and Jenkins

Experience on AWS or GCP stack ( EC2, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, Route53, S3, GCE, GCS, VPC, Firewall Manager)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Other Qualifications

Experience with Agile Principles and standard methodologies

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

A strong drive for success and a proactive approach to personal growth, with a commitment to continuous learning.

Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes environment
