Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Lead the design, development and implementation of software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Take a lead role in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Lead code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Lead design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technology Architect, Technology Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Technology Architect, Technology Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: using Java technology stack to architect, build, and execute high-throughput low-latency software applications; onboarding software applications to Cloud Computing using AWS; authentication and authorization protocols including OAuth, OpenID, Passkeys, and SAML; building and maintaining highly-available systems on Kubernetes using Docker container; Cassandra Data Modelling; developing and automating functional testing using Gherkin and Cucumber; building scalable Spark data pipelines leveraging scheduler and executor frameworks; enhancing loosely-coupled App2App communication following Pub-Sub pattern with Kafka-based pipelines; increasing application resiliency and reliability via performance testing and resiliency testing; using monitoring tools including Splunk and Dynatrace; architecting and implementing REST web services and SOAP web services using JSON- and XML-formatted payloads for data transfer; developing software utilizing Spring, Spring Boot, and Maven to resolve application dependencies; using front-end technologies including JavaScript, jQuery, React, HTML, and CSS; developing, maintaining, and optimizing Shell Scripts for various Unix-based systems; implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; Apache JMeter; Apache Blazemeter; Servlets; J2EE; Siteminder; Junit; Microservices; GIT; Apache Tomcat; WebSphere; and Linux.

Job Location: 3223 Hanover Street, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.

Full-Time. Salary:  $186,000 - $215,000 per year.
