Software Engineer

Actalent is currently seeking a Full Stack Developer for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. As a Strong Software Engineer, you will own a significant portion of our product development. You've ideally built and deployed software systems that are robust, scalable, and maintainable. This role requires you to follow agile development practices and understand how to implement quality software that is continuously integrated and deployable. A high degree of autonomy, leadership ability, and technical experience is required. The successful performance of this position will require candidate to meet and support the business goals and mission of the company.

 

Responsibilities

 

•\tLead the design and architectural decisions for software projects, ensuring that technical solutions meet the required standards for quality, performance, scalability, and security.

•\tOversee and write high-quality code and conduct code reviews to ensure that the software meets industry standards and project requirements.

•\tAct as a mentor to junior software engineers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them grow professionally.

•\tCoordinate the efforts of the development team, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the project goals and working efficiently.

•\tCollaborate with project managers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables.

•\tServe as a key technical liaison between the development team and other stakeholders, including product managers, clients, and other departments within the organization.

•\tEnsure that technical documentation is created and maintained, including system architecture, development processes, and API documentation.

•\tKeep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software development to ensure the team remains innovative and competitive.

•\tContinuously evaluate and improve the development process, tools, and techniques to enhance productivity and the quality of the software product.

•\tOther duties as assigned.

Requirements

 

•\tBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.

•\t4+ years of demonstrated progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role.

•\tStrong in software development, including understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.

•\tExperience in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and performant software architectures.

•\tFamiliarity with relevant development tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

•\tKnowledge of database design and management, including SQL and NoSQL databases.

•\tStrong proficiency in two or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript).

•\tExperience developing across a full-stack: webserver, relational databases, and client-side/front-end.

•\tUnderstanding of secure coding practices, cybersecurity principles, and data protection regulations relevant to the software being developed.
