Software Engineer
Description We are in search of a Software Engineer to join our team in OYSTER BAY, New York. The role emphasizes the development and maintenance of software systems. The Software Engineer will work on various tasks, including designing software systems, coding, and testing software applications. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and possess strong communication skills. Responsibilities: • Develop and design software systems using VB or C • Conduct unit testing and integrated system testing to ensure the functionality and reliability of software systems • Work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines and achieve goals • Maintain a solid understanding of software development and database development (Oracle and/or SQL) • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and accurately • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary • Possess knowledge of Inventory and Manufacturing-related systems • Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently • Ensure consistent communication with all relevant parties to keep them informed about ongoing projects and developments. Requirements • Proficiency in using VB and Visual Basic (VB) for software development • Demonstrable experience in software engineering, preferably in a similar industry • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically • Proficient in code versioning tools such as Git • Experience with continuous integration • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to multitask and manage various project elements simultaneously • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented mindset • Demonstrated ability to follow through with all tasks, promises, and commitments • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Commitment to continuous detail oriented development and learning.
