Software Engineer

Participate in full life cycle development of OpenShift AI software component by understanding the problem, designing, and developing and testing a solution that meets the standards set out by Red Hat.
 

*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, Inc. office in Boston, MA.
 

What You Will Do:

Modify existing software to fix bugs that are found, or any performance improvements based on the analysis made.Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product Management, as well as the Quality Engineering, Program Management, and Documentation teams.Analyze the requirements given by the business unit for different components and come up with necessary requirements and design documentation according to Red Hat-defined procedures to come up with estimated time for finishing the work.Review performance and operational data to determine overall health of the system or individual component for purposes of debugging and improving the operational efficiency.Take an active role in building and maintaining Cl/CD systems for build and delivery of the software components and integrate them to existing services to maintain consistency.

What You Will Bring:

Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and three (3) years of experience in cloud-native development and AI domain OR Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and two (2) years of experience in cloud-native development and AI domain.Must have two (2) years of experience with: software development for OpenShift as target platform; Podman or Docker containers; and developing software on Unix-based systems or services hosted on cloud environments.Must have one (1) year of experience with: working in Analytics or Data Science domain; building CI/CD pipelines for example Jenkins; and software development within Open-Source projects.

The salary range for this position is $122,970 - $166,320. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
