We are in search of a highly skilled Software Engineer to play a key role in advancing our fleet management capabilities for the batteries of electric underground loaders and hauling trucks. As a critical member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating telemetry solutions into our Battery Management Systems (BMS). Your primary focus will be on ensuring seamless communication between mining equipment and centralized cloud databases.
This position is in Sandvik’s Turku site which is the main product development and manufacturing center for our Load and Haul equipment. Partial remote work is possible in the role, however occasional travel and presence is required in our division headquarters in Turku.
Your key responsibilities include:
Telemetry Integration: Design and implement robust communication protocols for transmitting real-time data from underground loaders and hauling trucks to centralized cloud systems. Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate telemetry solutions into the existing vehicle architecture or the Battery Management System (BMS).Cloud Database Integration: Help develop software solutions to securely transmit and store telemetry data in cloud databases. Support in implementing data analytics tools for performance monitoring, predictive maintenance, and fault detection.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, BMS developers, and data scientists, to enhance overall fleet management capabilities. Ensure that telemetry solutions align with the broader goals of our electrification and automation initiatives.Security and Integrity: Prioritize the security and integrity of transmitted data, implementing robust measures to protect against potential cyber threats and unauthorized access.Your background and what we find important:
3+ years of professional experience in software engineering.Proven experience in developing telemetry and cloud integration solutions for industrial equipment. Familiarity with network communication protocols.Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Motivated, hands-on attitude and keenness to work with machines and control systems.Approach tasks proactively and systematically and solve complex problems related.Fluent in English.Occasional travel may be required for collaboration and project-related activities.Our culture – do we share the same mission?
