What you'll do We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Observability Engineering team to help build and scale Docusign's unified observability platform. You will work on developing robust systems that provide fine-grained visibility into service health, resource utilization, and cloud costs across our global infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while making a significant impact on Docusign's operational efficiency and cost optimization. This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Manager, Engineering. Responsibility Design and implement scalable services that integrate with DocuSign's service catalog for accurate cost attribution and resource utilization tracking Build data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze cost and performance metrics from cloud providers and on-premise environments Develop standardized tagging and monitoring solutions to ensure consistent resource tracking and cost allocation across services Create intuitive dashboards and reporting tools that provide detailed insights into cloud spend, resource utilization, and optimization opportunities Implement proactive monitoring systems to identify cost anomalies and resource inefficiencies Build automation tools to help teams optimize their cloud resource usage and reduce infrastructure costs Work with platform teams to integrate cost visibility and optimization features into existing deployment workflows Job Designation Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation) Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. What you bring Basic 5+ years of software development experience Experience with cloud platforms and their cost management APIs Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture Experience with data processing and analytics pipelines Experience with API design and development Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field Preferred Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices Strong proficiency in backend development using languages such as C#, Java, or Python Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation tools Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics Understanding of cloud billing models and resource optimization strategies Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Experience working with service catalogs and cloud resource management Wage Transparency Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations: Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $129,000.00 - $190,550.00 base salary This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
