Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description As a software engineer for Submarine Combat Systems, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for delivering advanced mission capabilities to the US and Australian submarine forces. This role requires strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to solve challenging problems quickly and efficiently. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain software for submarine combat systems + Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver mission-critical capabilities + Write and test code in C++, Java, Python, and other programming languages + Utilize Linux-based operating systems, such as Red Hat/CentOS + Implement and manage containerization and microservices + Use CI/CD tools to streamline development processes + Monitor system performance using Prometheus and Grafana + Ensure software meets Department of Defense security clearance requirements Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field + 2-5 years of job-related experience or a Master's degree + Proficiency in C++ and Java programming languages + Experience with Linux operating systems + Knowledge of Kubernetes, Microservices, Python, Ansible, and Helm + Familiarity with CI/CD processes + Strong understanding of software development processes and engineering concepts + Department of Defense Secret security clearance at the time of hire + U.S. citizenship Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with JavaScript and Spring Boot + Creative problem-solving abilities + Ability to work effectively in collaborative team environments + Agile experience preferred Work Environment The role is based on-site in Fairfax until April, with some flexibility for remote work afterward. The work environment is modern and well-equipped, with options for a 9/80 work schedule if desired.
