Senior Software Engineer
GDIT is looking to identify SQQ 89 Sonar System Professional to join Team GDIT. Make a direct impact on our customer’s mission while you support Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA) providing hardware and software products, solutions, systems engineering and In-Service Engineering Support (ISEA) for current and next generation platforms utilized by the United States Navy, Foreign Navies and Joint Forces.
This requirement will provide Contractor support to NSWCDD DNA in the area of Surface Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) engineering, logistics, and technical services. Contractor support includes Systems Engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), In-Service, and Installation Support for Fleet and Shore Operations. Contractor support in this area shall extend to all related United States Navy (USN) ASW subsystems and components

Supports SQQ-89 software development and maintenance. Uses a variety of operating and programming languages for the PMA-MTK, including but not limited, to Python (programming standard PEP 8), Linux, Bash, and third-party Python libraries. Utilize software version control systems such as Github, Git, CodeBeamer and Mercunial. Employs Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 7.X. Utilizes Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), e.g., Eclipse, Pycharm, and any IDE that incorporates Python programming support. Performs software testing and debugging between software applications and actual physical hardware interactions. Employs Cisco/Networking switch initial loading/setup and configurations/diagnostics actions. Writes test cases and test configurations for large Python application projects. Oversees the creation of hybrid software, web, and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. Monitors and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, and works with developers to implement solutions
