Job Description

The Aircraft Systems Software Engineer is a highly-motivated and self-driven team player that has the ability to perform in a dynamic prototyping environment. The preferred candidate will understand and employ current software design methodologies and have a strong desire for innovation. This candidate is an experienced software engineer with broad technical knowledge, who can design and develop software from requirements, lead root-cause analysis, communicate options for resolution, and provide recommendations for software defect resolution. The Aircraft Systems Software Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, testing, acceptance, and discrepancy resolution of physics-based Aircraft System and Avionic models as they pertain to the aircraft being simulated. This position will work closely with the OEM, test pilots, and supporting documentation to ensure the models are functionally identical to the real aircraft.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, test, and accept physics-based Aircraft System and Avionic modelsPerform discrepancy resolution for Aircraft System and Avionic modelsCollaborate closely with the OEM, test pilots, and supporting documentation to ensure model accuracyDesign and develop software from requirementsLead root-cause analysis and communicate options for resolutionProvide recommendations for software defect resolutionEssential SkillsProficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and PythonExperience developing physics-based modelsProficiency with Unix/Linux Operating SystemsStrong understanding of aircraft systems and avionics principlesKnowledge of software development methodologies, version control systems, and software testing practicesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to troubleshoot and debug complex software systemsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAttention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software productsBachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Computer, Software, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field2+ years of software engineering or relative experienceAdditional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with aviation terminology and/or flight simulation experienceAbility to travel up to 25% annuallyWork Environment

This is a full-time onsite position with a 9x80 work schedule. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
