Job Title: Software Engineer
Location: Holloman AFB, NM. - (On-Site)
Canvas is seeking an Software Engineer ! This position provides advisory services to the DoD.
The selected candidate will work closely with the 846TS/TGTM Flight Chief in carrying out duties. The Engineering Flight (TGTM) is responsible for the design of rocket sled tests to meet customer requirements, design and structural analysis of rocket sleds and rocket sled components, and design and analysis of rocket sled test support hardware and targets. The TGTM Flight is also responsible for all electrical engineering design, analysis, fabrication, and test conduct. Test conduct consists of electrical and avionics systems support to include, setup, troubleshooting, and maintaining systems and capabilities. In addition, TGTM supports in-house capability development and facility maintenance.
Duties:
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
+ Develop software for data acquisition, instrument control, and industrial automation.
+ Integrate and communicate with various sensors, actuators, and middleware.
+ Devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering. *Experience may be substituted for education with customer approval.
+ 0-1 years of relevant experience.
+ Requires: basic knowledge of signal processing, including frequency domain analysis and Fourier transforms.
+ Requires a working knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python, with a solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
+ Must have familiarity with user interface (UI) design and user experience (UX) design.
+ Must have experience with data analytics and handling large datasets specifically related to hardware applications.
+ Must have familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools relevant to hardware products.
+ Must have ability to work within specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations and guidelines.
+ Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities, both verbal and written for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
+ Must be able to quickly understand the customer's overall technical objectives and mission and provide effective solutions.
+ Must exemplify a dedication to achieving the mission of the 846 TS as well as high standards of quality and excellence in performing the duties.
+ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
Security Clearance:
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; Active Secret clearance desired.
Desired Experience:
+ 2-5 years of relevant experience.
+ Ground test experience, especially at a DoD installation. Hands-on use of basic test diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers, etc.). Fully proficient with/extensive experience using MATLAB and/or Python.
Other Essential Job Functions:
+ Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
+ May be required to work other than normal duty hours on occasion to meet customer test requirements/schedule.
