Job Title: Software Engineer
Job Description

We are hiring a Software Engineer to support a Marine Corp-based program called Family of Carriers. This program enables a command post to conduct unmanned convoy operations and Teleoperation. The role involves developing software for a touchscreen interface, known as the Warfighter Machine Interface (WMI), which allows operators to remotely control and access the status of unmanned vehicles.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop User Interface Software (C++) for robotic platforms including front-end UI and back-end interface development to control, command, and execute behaviors on the robotic platform.Support networking analysis and debugging with JAUS interface, UDP/TCP protocols, and RTSP video streams.Create and utilize interfaces with different sensors and hardware components on a vehicle.Manage and analyze network traffic over a MANET radio network.Travel to perform vehicle software integration and testing at customer and government sites.Essential SkillsB.S. in Computer Science or Engineering3-5 years of C++ software development experienceExperience writing multithreaded applications with Qt libraries and tools (Qt Creator and/or Qt Designer)Experience with CMake as the build system (or other C++ build tools)Active Secret Security ClearanceAbility to obtain a CAC CardWillingness to travel to customer sites in Maryland 2-3 days a month and sites in California, Idaho, and Wisconsin for quarterly test and integration eventsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket (git)Experience with network programming (UDP, TCP, JAUS interface)Familiarity with Scrum process (Agile Scrum Methodology)Experience with modular repo management toolsWork Environment

This position is mostly remote. Team members are required to come to Alexandria once a week on Wednesdays or 2-3 days a month to Clarksburg, MD for test events. Additionally, travel to California, Wisconsin, or Idaho once a quarter for test and integration events is necessary (1-2 weeks at a time, split up over the team).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.70/hr.
