**This is a hybrid role in our Plano, TX office requiring 2 days in the office a week**

 

 

You will work collaboratively on a geographically diverse agile team to develop and enhance complex systems and/or software from user stories and technical/architectural specifications. You will be helping to solve business problems and drive direct outcomes thought innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations, driving best in class claims experiences.

In this role you will:

Work in an agile environment to develop creative solutions for our claims product.Accelerate speed to market by addressing current product needs and developing long-term strategic solutions using technologies such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, and other potential backend languages.Utilize cloud services and tools, including AWS, Cloud Foundry, and CDNs like Akamai.Demonstrate proficiency in multiple object-oriented and functional programming languages.Build and implement RESTful services.Employ an open-minded and collaborative approach to create innovative technical solutions.Analyze technical system problems to design and implement effective, flexible solutions.Handle end-to-end development, including coding, testing, and debugging in each development cycle.Develop automated tests across multiple scopes, including unit, system, integration, and regression testing.Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement

Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skillsOpenness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving circumstancesAptitude for working in teamsFull stack engineering skills, including React, Node JS, AWS, Graphql, Redis, Java, Springboot, and MongoDBProficiency in multiple object-oriented and functional programming languages knowledgeIn-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies, architectural concepts, and principlesAwareness of policies regarding security and privacyUnderstanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics and incremental deliver

Highly competitive applicants will preferably have experience with:

Understanding of insurance industry and productsExcited by trying new technology and learning new tools Qualifications Three years of software engineering experience.Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban or XP.Demonstrated success in platform modernization initiatives, utilizing technologies such as REST; micro services; cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; and Java, NodeJS and Spring Boot.An ability to code in multiple languages, including an object-oriented language, preferably Java/J2EE.Strong oral and written communication skills—and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers.A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts.A thorough grasp of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards.Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools.A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
