Software Engineer

 

Job Summary:        

The Software Engineer is part of a software engineering team that is responsible for the development and maintenance of a variety of business applications and software. The development team is a key business partner to operations and has a direct impact on revenue attainment.
 
Essential Functions: 

Design, develop, test (automated & manual), document, deploy and maintain enterprise level multi-tier applications using OOPs Concepts, Microsoft .NET, C#, ASP.NET, SOA, WCF, WPF, MVVM & MVC Patterns.Participates in an agile software development environment to develop software in an iterative fashionResearch/troubleshoot existing systems to correct errors and identify solutions for improvementWork with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure applications meet the needs of the end userOther duties as assigned

 


 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience in SQL stored procedures, TSQL, and schema design Understanding of Web services, Windows services, XML, IIS, SQL Server, and Visual Studio Good interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to coordinate team member efforts and collaborate/provide service to end usersMust have an understanding and commitment to the values and mission of Better World Books.

                                                     
 Qualifications, Training, and Experience:

BS in Computer Science or related field preferred2+ yrs. exp. developing object-oriented software 2+ yrs. exp. in developing Microsoft SQL Server database driven web application 2+ yrs. exp. with Microsoft .NET, C#, JavaScript Experience in a cross-functional environment on an agile team preferredExperience with frontend development (CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, Vue, jQuery) desiredExperience with TDD, BDD, testing frameworks preferred
