JOB SUMMARY:
The Flight Dynamics Software Engineer is a highly motivated and self-driven team player that can perform in a dynamic prototyping environment. This role is responsible for design, development, integration, test, and documentation for software in flight simulator dynamic models on a wide range of aviation platforms.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, develop, integrate, test, and document flight simulator software for flight dynamics models.Create, maintain, conduct flight test data collection plans.Develop Qualification Test Guide tests and documentation to validate flight dynamics models.Participate in customer acceptance and regulatory qualification of flight simulator training devices.Stay current with flight simulation industry regulations (FAA, EASA, ICAO).Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines and aircraft subject matter experts to meet or exceed flight simulator training device requirements.Recommend, incorporate, and/or alter new and existing simulator designs and documentation.Participate in engineering design reviews.Perform hardware/software integration testing on flight simulator training devices.Provide engineering staff with recommendations for software/hardware enhancements.Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.JOB SUMMARY:

Bachelor’s degree required in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field Proven track record applying flight dynamics engineering theory/methodology within flight simulation industry preferredStrong background in rotary-wing flight dynamics and blade element theory preferredQUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of longitudinal and lateral-directional flight dynamics including aircraft performance, six degree of freedom forces/moments, stability/control derivativesKnowledge of aircraft systems, specifically propulsion, flight controls, and ground reaction forces Experience integrating/testing aircraft OEM aerodynamic models preferredFixed-wing flight dynamics and flight simulation industry experience preferredProficiency with C/C , Python, Linux/Unix, and Shell scripting is a plusGeneral piloting knowledge is a plusFlight testing experience is a plusExceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong work ethic and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written Communication SkillsProfessional and diplomatic demeanorStrong sense of accountability and integrityAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to travel for up to 25% annuallyThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.
