Summary

As a Software Engineer II (Applications) one works with and is mentored by a talented group of engineers to design and develop software solutions to meet customer requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Implements and optimizes algorithms and software including REST endpoints, relational database schemas, and user interface componentsSupports testing and demonstration of components and integrated systemsDevelops documentation, technical reports, and provides report inputs for presentation to customers and other stakeholdersCreates software design documentation according to software process requirements and guidance from Senior EngineersImplements coding according to coding standard; writes a unique test and validates software according to the process; contributes to process improvement efforts.Delivers work on time according to agreed completion dates and project schedule & budgetSupports and derives algorithm design from detailed software requirementsOperates in a continuous learning environment under moderate supervision; provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineersWorks on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factorsExercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; builds productive internal/external working relationshipsOther duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience2 - 5 years of relevant experience software engineering or related field Strong software engineering skills with proficiency in C/C++, Java, Golang, and/or Python languages, including a sound understanding of common data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and development workflowsExperience with relational database systems such as PostgreSQL or MySQLExperience with Ubuntu and/or CentOS Linux operating systemsExperienced writing unit tests and debugging codeDemonstrated mathematical and analytical skills are requiredDemonstrated familiarity with source code configuration management tools such as SVN and Git as well as familiarity with IDEs and debuggers

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)Required to stand and sit for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

The salary range for this role is:

$79,706 - $119,558
