Volt is immediately hiring an Embedded Software Engineer in El Segundo, CA.

As Embedded Software Engineer you will:
\r\n\r\nThe selected candidates will work on embedded cyber resiliency software for a large-scale satellite program. The position will involve integrating the software with multiple platforms and flight software, developing tools, building up development and integration platforms, executing software testing, and conducting Cyber Vulnerability Analysis (CVA). The candidates will work with flight software and product security teams to ensure engineering excellence and achieve program objectives.

A successful candidate should be able to:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDesign, Integrate, modify, test, and debug software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards.\r\n\tReview, analyze, and translate customer requirements for software products for embedded devices and systems.\r\n\tBuild and write code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware.\r\n\tIntegrate embedded software with hardware components.\r\n\tAnalyze, monitor, and improve the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems.\r\n\tTest and debug software for embedded devices and systems.\r\n\tDrive software execution to deliver products on-cost and on-schedule to program.\r\n\tResponsible for satellite and payload software safety, assurance, quality, and engineering excellence.\r\n\tProduce design and test documentation and artifacts.\r\n\tConduct Cyber Vulnerability Analysis (CVA) for multiple processing platforms within the satellite vehicle architecture.\r\n\tDesign and implement cyber monitoring algorithms.\r\n\tDesign and write custom tools to support configuration automation and improve development workflow.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
This is a 12 Month Full-time Contract opportunity.

Required Skills
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science\r\n\tExperience with embedded software development in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and DevOps processes/tools\r\n\tExperience developing and debugging software using C/C++, Assembly, and/or Python\r\n\tExperience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS)\r\n\tExperience with embedded spacecraft software and spacecraft subsystems\r\n\tExperience automating software builds, unit tests and integration tests using a DevOps tool chain \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Preferred Skills:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tExperience or interest in cyber software and white hat\r\n\tExperience with ARM, PowerPC processor architectures\r\n\tExperience with GNU toolchains and build products\r\n\tCOSMOS ground software\r\n\tExperience with new product development with small, agile teams on fast-paced, dynamic customer-funded programs\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Education / Experience:
\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Pay Rate: $70 to $75 per Hour
