This role supports the Communications Systems Software (CSS) department, where you’ll be part of a fast-paced, collaborative team driving innovation in real-time flight software development. **Location:** Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 **Job Type:** Full-time | 12-Month Contract **Schedule:** Monday – Friday | 9x80 **Pay Rate:** $104.35 – $119.52 per hour **What You’ll Do:** + Design, develop, integrate, and test real-time flight software for a RISC-V soft processor running in an RTG4 FPGA. + Implement key software functions including mechanism control, telemetry reporting, fault monitoring, and failover protocols. + Develop software in **C++** using **FreeRTOS** , primarily in an unclassified environment, with potential classified function additions. + Apply best practices, tools, and processes throughout the **software development life cycle** to ensure quality and performance. + Work in a **lab environment** , collaborating with hardware and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless software integration. **What You Bring:** **Required Qualifications:** + **STEM degree** (Bachelor’s with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years of experience). + Proficiency in **C/C++** programming. + Experience working with **FreeRTOS** or other real-time operating systems. + **This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.** **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with **RISC-V soft processor development** in an RTG4 FPGA. + Hands-on experience with **standard test equipment** (network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, etc.). + **Active TS/PAR with poly** security clearance. **Why Join Us?** At PDS Tech Commercial, we connect top engineering talent with industry-leading aerospace projects.
