On a daily basis you should bring:A willingness and desire to effectively communicate and collaborate across teams and systems.A sense of ownership of the projects delivered by your team and departmentA passion for mentoring, learning, and adapting to a very dynamic and fast paced environmentAn understanding of how to define technical and operational metrics to measure system health and to manage risk.A keen eye for potential optimizations and enhancements to our servicesKindness and pragmatic optimism.Your unique view and experienceWhat you’ll be doing:Actively participate in daily stand-ups and other scrum ceremonies.Collaborate with team members to design new solutions and drive alignment across partner teams.Participate in the breakdown and estimation of tasks.Communicate with team members on progress.Write code to implement new features or optimize existing services.Test code through various means: unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, etc.Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for our tier-1 critical services facing millions of users worldwide.Follow industrial best practices for service operations regarding CI/CD, monitoring, and investigation of incidents. Perform code reviews for members of the team.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:Develop software designs and specificationsDevelops and writes code to meet design specificationsTest, document and deploy codeSupport, maintain and break-fix production productsWork with a team to design solutions to various interesting and challenging problemsBe a champion for engineering excellenceBecome and stay an expert in current and emerging technologies and toolsRequired Education, Experience/Skills/Training:3+ years of software engineering experienceUnderstanding of message based distributed, scalable, and resilient systemsDesire to work in a start-up, fast-growth, or rapid-change environmentExperience working on diverse teams Problem-solving skills to identify the root cause and implement the fix.Solid communication skills – written, and oralAbility to be flexible, adapting to changing prioritiesFluent in multiple programming languages and an expert in at least one of: JavaScript, Python, JavaExperience transforming requirements into software design, documentation and software.Flink for stream and batch processingPreferred QualificationsSpringBoot and related Spring projectsNon-relational database technologies e.g. DynamoDBRedis and/or MemCacheApache Kafka and/or KinesisTerraform, Docker and KubernetesExpert with at least one of: AWS, Azure, GCPExperience building, testing, and tuning distributed systemsRequired Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in Los Angelos, CA is $114,900 - $154,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
