Job Summary:
The team responsible for building world-class news experiences for ABC News is seeking a Software Engineer. This is a great opportunity to work on a leading news product at ABC News on its mission to inform and inspire. Responsibilities:
Develop core site functionality using server-side templating and JavaScript
Resolve bugs and clear roadblocks as they occur
Implement best practices to continually increase performance and scalability
Support team members by reviewing code and pull requests
Work with engineering peers, product, and project management to refine specs and timelines
Partner with other engineering teams to deliver best solutions
Help onboard new engineers as needed
Collaborate with story tellers and designers across our brands
Qualifications:
Proven understanding of front-end web development technologies and principles
Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, React.JS, and server-side templating
Experience with task automation (WebPack, Grunt, Gulp) and CSS Preprocessors (Less, Sass)
Demonstrated ability to research solutions to complex problems
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Driven and self-motivated
3+ years relevant industry experience
Required Education:
BS Computer Science or related technical discipline or its equivalent
The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT & Burbank, CA is $114,900 to $154,100 per year and in New York and Seattle, WA is $120,300 to $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
