As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be accountable for developing and maintaining software applications for our Aerospace Technologies (AT) business. You will work on cutting-edge technologies and work with a team of talented engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
\nYou will report directly to our Software Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location.
\nIn this role, you will have a direct impact on the development of software solutions that are used in commercial, defense, and space aircraft around the world. You will contribute to the design, coding, testing, and debugging of software applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
\nBe part of a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex software functions within Honeywell Aerospace’s Verification & Validation Center of Excellence. You will be an active and integral member of a team to achieve the completion of goals. You will also generate innovative solutions in work situations, trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.

\n\nRequirement Analysis\nTest Strategy & Design\nTest Development, Execution & Debug\nReviews (Requirement & test)\nFormal Testing (RFS & SC)\nCertification Support\nSupport the Test Experts in deploying new initiatives - Tools, test methodologies, etc.\nProviding verification deliverables, as per DO-178 / SW V&V CoE Process to the Program Lead\nContinuously search for deployment opportunities of our organization’s improvement strategies\n\nTravel, up to 25% to the US and/ or internationally may be required.

YOU MUST HAVE
\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics\n2+ years of experience in Software/Requirement testing\n2+ years of embedded real-time software development experience\n2+ years of development experience in C/C++ and Python\nMust be able to read, write and speak English\n\nWE VALUE
\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science\nUnderstanding of software requirements of varying complexity\nHardware and software debug with lab equipment (Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc…)\nHands on experience in Multicore Processor and good understanding of processor architecture\nExperience in avionics software/systems/software verification\nExperience in development of application/driver for protocols like Arinc429, RS232, RS422, MIL-STD-1553\nDemonstrate good working knowledge on DO178B/C certification\nTechnical skills with emphasis in the areas of software development and verification processes, certification, and DO-178 design assurance guidelines\nUnderstanding of software verification methods and tools currently in use as well as versed in industry standards and direction\nUnderstanding various software development lifecycle\nKnowledge of software configuration management and change management practices\nDiverse and global teaming and collaboration\nEffective communicator\nWide degree of creativity\nIndividuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events\n\nABOUT HONEYWELL
