CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.
As a **Software Engineer** – you will work closely with our Security organizations, Software Engineers, and Managers to understand both security requirements, and service architectures. You will be responsible for assisting engineering teams in locating and remediating security issues. As a self-starter you will operate with little oversite, solely responsible for driving projects to completion.
**Responsibilities**
+ Design, develop, validate and implement the next generation of platform infrastructure that is highly secure, performant, resilient, modular, meets reliability targets, includes observability, and that enables next gen experiences.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable backend infrastructure services that deliver delightful customer experiences.
+ Assist other software engineers in remediating security issues and code bugs
+ Take up end-to-end ownership of deliverables and produce viable solutions.
+ Focus on building innovative user experiences and automating manual processes.
+ Ensure the security, scalability, reliability, and performance of services in production.
+ Actively participate in code and design reviews to maintain high-quality code and solutions.
+ Responding to and mitigating any live site issues impacting customers
**Qualifications**
**Required/Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years professional experience with system design and system architecture
+ 2+ years professional experience in software development and cloud computing
+ 2+ years professional experience in cyber security
**Other Requirements:**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 5+ years professional experience with system design and system architecture in cloud computing and Support a 24x7 live site
+ 5+ years professional experience in cyber security
+ Experience designing, building and running large scale and highly available cloud services preferbaly Azure or distributed systems
+ Practice of modern software engineering, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and releasing
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
