Surface is looking for a **Software Engineer II** to be part of our Quality team and an integral contributor to seamless user experience.

**Responsibilities**
+ Implementation and verification on Surface Wireless products from prototype to production.
+ Develop test strategy across new wireless features and across multiple operators and ensure the device can meet the requirements through lab and field test.
+ Identify appropriate techniques and creates test plan for manual testing procedures when necessary to identify defects and escalate defects to the appropriate partners upon identification for multiple features.
+ Manage partnerships with cross functional teams working on RF HW design, modem, SW/driver and FW from across Microsoft and external chipset suppliers to root cause any issues and evaluate fixes.
+ Provide test reports and feedback, create dashboards on test coverages, milestones and bugs.
+ Investigate future wireless technologies and features for 5G, Wi-Fi/BT, evaluate test equipment, develop test plan and test automation for new technologies.
+ Collaborate with feature team and leverages tools and technology that facilitate software quality testing and development and supports feasibility analysis for multiple features.
+ Create, write, identify, and track risks for test planning and execution, and feature readiness, with consideration of milestones and product type.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years software engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 2 + years experience in relevant wireless/cellular product development, testing and certification.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in designing wireless test plans/test scenarios, test methodologies & test infrastructure for product level KPI like data performance, stress, mobility.
+ Knowledge of Network simulators and their automation framework, design test automation using either Off-the-shelf test framework.
+ Experience in Industry Certification (GCF/PTCRB), Mobile operator certification process, test and debugging failures in lab and field.
+ Software Programming experience C++ and C#, Python.
+ Knowledge and experience in LTE/5G Software, wireless system architecture and understanding of RF Design.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
