Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing

As a Software Engineer II on our Web Engineering Team, you will be at the heart of our efforts to refine and expand our web presence. You'll be instrumental in advancing our booking website and internal flight management system, and you'll have a hand in supporting headless CMS (Content Management System) initiatives. Your work will impact the usability and functionality of our web applications, ensuring a seamless user experience across various platforms.

Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Design, architect, and build scalable, reusable components and microservices that support robust applicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, design, and product, to bring high-quality, user-friendly solutions to lifeImplement and maintain integrations with Azure cloud services, optimizing deployments, scaling, and availabilityDevelop and maintain GraphQL APIs, ensuring efficient data retrieval and a smooth developer experience for client applicationsWrite and maintain unit tests for code to ensure reliability, covering edge cases and improving usabilityDiagnose, fix, and enhance application performance to provide a stable and scalable platformContinuously research and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and best practices to enhance development efficiency and code quality Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements

We’re looking for someone who has a unique mix of experience, skills, and passion for what we do:

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teamsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience7-10 years of experience in developing Java web applications in agile environmentsStrong expertise in the following technologies:Java: Proficiency in Java programming for robust application developmentSpring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security): Building microservices with secure and data-driven backendsRESTful APIs and GraphQL: Experience designing and implementing REST and GraphQL APIsAzure Cloud: Hands-on experience with Azure services, including deployment, scaling, and monitoringMicroservices: Designing and deploying distributed, scalable architecturesContainerization: Docker expertise for building and managing containersDatabase Management: Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB) and SQL (MySQL), with a focus on optimized data managementGit: Proficiency in version control for collaborative development

What We Offer: Salary Range & Benefits

At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary for this role ranges from $127,050 - $181,500, depending on a variety of factors. We don’t typically start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, which rewards individual and organizational performance.
