As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be accountable for the design, development, and testing of software solutions for aerospace applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design software architectures, and implement high-quality code. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the aerospace industry.
You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location.
In this role, you will impact the development of software solutions that enable safer and more efficient air travel. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our software systems. Be part of a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex software functions within Honeywell Sensors Guidance & Navigation (SG&N) Center of Excellence (CoE). You will be an active and integral member of a team to achieve the completion of goals.
Key Responsibilities
+ Under minimum supervision of an experienced software engineer, you must apply software engineering and analytical skills while following the organization’s software processes.
+ You will be responsible for managing requirements, design, code, test, and integrate real-time embedded software for Inertial Navigation Systems with an embedded Global Positioning System receiver and/or other SG&N product lines such as atmospheric sensing systems.
+ You will analyze and resolve software discrepancies
+ You will be a member of a cross-functional development team where communication and teaming skills are highly valued.

YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
+ 2+ years of software development experience with C/C++ and/or ADA programming languages
+ Ability to speak, read and write English

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
+ Experience working with Inertial Navigation Systems, atmospheric sensing systems, GPS, Arinc-429, Mil-Std-1553, DO-178C
+ Experience executing software development with Agile Methodologies
+ Strong Object-Oriented programming and math background
+ Embedded real time software programming experience
+ Understanding various software development lifecycle
+ Ability to develop efficient and high quality software
+ Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
+ Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
+ Effective communicator
+ Can quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
+ Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
