Join our Order Platform team that works on Chewy's core order management system which directly impacts millions of pet parents. The expectations of the prospective candidate will be to design and build software components for services and our platforms. In this role, the ideal candidate will engage in development, testing, and make contributions to the growth and development of one of Chewy’s fastest growing areas. This individual will partner with both technical and business teams on multiple initiatives and collaborate to deliver new features and enhancements. What You’ll Do:Actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing and implementation of software functionality using an agile methodologyBuild and modify scalable distributed software systems.Partner with collaborators and technology teams on how best to implement desired features and improvementsEnsure that technical solutions follow standard methodologies, are reliable, are easily maintainable and are scalable under sustained loadParticipate in design and code reviewsCollaborate to identify, isolate, and resolve malfunctions related to softwareCreate and evolve system-related documentationParticipate in on-call rotations and contribute to operational excellenceWhat You’ll Need:Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar; or equivalent experience3+ years' experience in software engineeringExperience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and similar technologiesExperience with PostgreSQL and relational databasesExperience with scalable event driven architecture with Kafka, SQS/SNS, and similar technologiesExperience with AWS, Terraform, Agile/Scrum, open-source technologies, continuous integration using Jenkins.Must have a DevOps mindset with the ability to take full ownership of the application development lifecycle, from design through deployment and maintenance.Analytical and problem-solving abilities / skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively connect with collaboratorsAbility to balance multiple priorities at a given timeMust be team oriented and have a customer first approachBonus (if applicable):Experience with Typescript, Next.js and ReactExperience working in e-commerce

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. We offer different types of insurance, such as medical/Rx, vision, dental, life, disability, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and accident. Pay Range$91,000—$168,500 USD
