In this role, you will leverage the latest advancements in cloud computing and AI to tackle complex technical challenges, working with large volumes of unstructured data and driving innovation in enterprise-grade distributed systems. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automation processes, and cloud infrastructure using the Azure tech stack, DevOps tools, and best practices. Additionally, this role offers exciting opportunities to work on AI-driven automation solutions, where you will utilize machine learning, AI tools, co-pilot capabilities, and LLMs to streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize our build, testing, deployment, and DevOps pipelines. As a **Software Engineer II** in the CELA Platform Technical Team, you will collaborate closely with business and technical partners to shape our overall product strategy. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. **Responsibilities** + Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to gather and define user requirements for a feature. + Assists in identifying dependencies and contributes to the development of design documents for a product feature under supervision. + Learns to write and implement code for a product, service, or feature, leveraging reusable code where applicable, with guidance. + Supports task breakdown and effort estimation for work items while gaining experience in project planning. + Serves as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), monitoring system/product feature/service for potential issues such as degradation, downtime, or interruptions for simple problems, and follows established protocols to recommend corrective actions. + Stays informed about industry advancements and proactively acquires new knowledge to enhance the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products, while promoting consistency in monitoring and operations at scale. + Automates key processes, including testing, release management, and service monitoring, to improve efficiency and reliability. + Ensures adherence to responsible AI principles, security, privacy, and accessibility best practices throughout the product lifecycle. + Embody our Culture (https://careers.microsoft.com/v2/global/en/culture) and Values (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/about/corporate-values) **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java, Golang or NodeJS + OR equivalent experience. + Experience developing tools and processes in application security, security engineering or the cyber security domain. + Experience developing distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture solutioning. + Experience architecting in any public cloud infrastructure (ex: Azure, AWS, GCP). **Other Requirements:** Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + **Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Prior experience in DevOps.  + Prior experience working with Global teams and multiple stakeholders. + Prior experience building models and operationalizing them in production.  Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
