The Role

The Experimentation team is seeking a strong, experienced engineer who will play a crucial role in designing, and implementing, Condé Nast’s experimentation platform that empowers our product teams to conduct a variety of tests to improve our user experiences. We’re looking for someone who has a proven track record of shipping products with reliable, maintainable code with a focus on both front-end components and large-scale backend services.

The Work. We believe that our job begins when our content is created all the way to where we recommend it using various experimentation tools. You will at times touch vastly complex components that drive most of the systems of Conde Nast.

The Code.  We are strong believers in “the right tool for the right job.” Our main technologies include Java, Node.js, React.js, GraphQL, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t open to other technologies.

    

What will you be doing?

Designing, implementing, and documenting front-end components and backend APIs 

 Leading projects from ideation to execution to maintenance

 Teaching and mentoring other engineers, both internal and external to the team

Collaborating with your team on new ideas or improving existing ones

Being included in the on-call rotation for production support

Helping us grow our engineering team

Who you are: 

Knowledge of vanilla JavaScript and React.js, good understanding of ES9 and Node.js and JavaScript testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha etc.), Java

Experience working with, designing and deploying GraphQL and RESTful APIs

Effective fluency with front-end technologies such as fundamental HTML, CSS and OOP CSS (i.e. Sass, Less)

 Strong sense of building products for other engineers and experience building platforms for other teams

 Has seen projects from ideation through execution and maintenance

Experience mentoring engineers

Eager to learn about new technologies and implement these ideas in a production environment
