Software Engineer II - IBM FileNet, Content Navigator
CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client in New York. Location: Remote Duration: 6 months Top skills: Proficiency with IBM FileNet Content Management System 5.5.x. Experience with IBM Content Navigator Plugin Development and Deployment Manager. Hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.x and GitLab. Primary Responsibilities: Complete and oversee basic to complex systems analysis, design, and development. Serve as an individual contributor on complex projects. Maintain a solid understanding of the supported application(s). Direct and monitor less experienced resources and coordinate development tasks on small to large scope projects. Prepare and manage the technical components of project plans. Collaborate with other development, operations, and technology staff in the overall systems development direction from technical analysis to user acceptance testing. Prepare and review test data and execute detailed test plans, including debugging. Evaluate and understand complex interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms. Provide highly analytical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies to assist business units in meeting strategic objectives. Prepare clear technical and functional specifications and update systems documentation. Prepare charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems. Review documentation prepared by less experienced staff. Prepare and review assessments, including required tasks, estimated time frames, and effort for any scope project. Maintain efficient operation and effectiveness of supported applications. Recommend new technology, policies, or processes to benefit the organization and improve deficiencies. Participate in technical evaluations of vendor software. Follow and promote the use of development standards and procedures. Maintain a good understanding of the business being supported, including its functions, processes, operations, and strategic direction. Assist in developing expense and capital budgets. Understand and adhere to the company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the company’s brand. Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points, as applicable. Complete other related duties or projects, including leading due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, or business study activities. Scope of Responsibilities: This position works under the supervision of the Technology Team Lead. The Software Engineer II is capable of working independently on high-level systems analysis and technical development tasks. The role may manage activities of others on a project basis and lead project activities. The job holder will interact with senior management, other technology personnel, clients, and vendors, providing backup to higher management as required. They may also serve as a technical representative on committees and ad-hoc projects. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: May direct and monitor less experienced personnel. May serve as a technical representative for committees or special projects. Education and Experience Required: Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience. Proficiency with IBM FileNet Content Management System 5.5.x. Experience with IBM Content Navigator Plugin Development and Deployment Manager. Hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.x and GitLab. Familiar with application development software and hardware platforms. Experience working on multiple complex projects. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assist in issue resolution. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience presenting to the target audience. Strong organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented with strong lateral thinking skills. Experience coordinating between applications and business units. Experience recommending and implementing systems solutions. Proven track record in driving project milestones and delivery dates. Education and Experience Preferred: Good understanding of the Bank's application framework. Subject matter expert in business with knowledge or experience utilizing the application/system being supported. Advanced understanding of applications supported, with knowledge of interfacing/integrated applications. Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. Ability to multitask across various components of complex projects. Action-oriented and proactive. Advanced knowledge and focus on the entire system to manage projects outside of normal business-as-usual (BAU). Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
