Software Engineer II - UI/React

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Digital group, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities: 

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies Participate in design and develop scalable and resilient systems in a timely manner using Java or Python and JavaScript to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams​  Design, write, comment and unit test code to confirm software modules are of the highest quality​  Build UI using React , write test cases and deploy  Collaborate with teams in multiple regions and time zones​  Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team​ 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills: 

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience Proficiency in UI development with experience in React or Angular, TypeScript, CSS, Micro FrontEnd Development, JavaScript, Mock frameworks as well as US ADA, Section 508, and W3C WCAG 2.1 standards  Exposure to Public or Private cloud based environments  Automation experience with Cucumber / Automated Functional Testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile tools e.g., JIRA  Related assistive technology knowledge and experience with tools like JAWS, NVDA, and/or Window Eyes screen readers  Accessibility knowledge for UI development (common electronic communication accessibility barriers) to help people with hearing, physical, speech, cognitive, and vision disabilities  Experienced with accessibility testing per WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA Success Criteria  Hands on experience as a software engineer with focus on customer facing journeys and modern agile software delivery practices such as Scrum, CI/CD Jules and DDD, and DevOps
