As a Software Engineer III  - Test Automation at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure software qualityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize testing requirements and achieve thorough test coveragePerform manual, automated and regression testing, track issues, and verify bug fixes, to ensure software stability and reliabilityDesign and implement test automation frameworks to streamline testing processesAnalyze and report test results, track defects, and improve testing methodologiesDemonstrate ability to contribute to design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experienceStrong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies. Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and test executionExcellent communication skills to effectively communicate test results and collaborate with stakeholdersGood knowledge of programming languages and tools to write test scripts, such as: Java, JavaScript, React, ExtJS, Cucumber, Cypress, PlaywrightAttention to detail and ability to meticulously document test results and defects in tracking tools, such as JiraAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issuesKnowledge of database concepts and SQL for data validation and verificationExperience with manual, automated testing techniques and tools and experience in API testing using JMeterFamiliarity with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD), such as Jenkins, Maven, GradleExperience with Observability or logging tools e.g. Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, log4j, CloudWatch, ELK
