Software Engineer III

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. Work on individual pieces of work and solve problems including the design of the program flow of individual pieces of code, effective coding, and unit testing. Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity. Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolve technical issues as necessary. Keep abreast of new technology developments. Complete bug fixes. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.3 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.Also required is: 3 years of experience: writing, executing and documenting automated tests that exercise applications written by engineering staff; utilizing automated testing frameworks such as Junit and JmockIt to write automated tests for applications, classes, and methods, to run the tests in order to determine if regressions have been introduced; developing and implementing BDD tests using Cucumber to write automated end-to-end tests for applications and workflows; utilizing automated build and deployment tools such as Maven, Ant, ADO or Jenkins to automate software builds and deployments, that will automate building the applications, running automated tests, and deploying the software to the servers; and testing Web services (REST) and Web apps using Selenium or equivalent to write automated tests for Web services and apps developed by the engineering staff that can be run in an automated fashion.Employee reports to LexisNexis USA office in Gainesville, FL, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.Experience can be concurrent.
