What you'll do...

Position: Software Engineer III

Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07302

Duties: Gathers software requirements from business and product teams. Takes part in agile process including cost estimates and sprint reviews. Supports production issues. Identify and understand the incidence, Investigate the root cause and provide a short term and long-term solution for the same. Perform code reviews and brain storm new features.  Understand the business needs and gather the requirements from the product owners for creating new software. Design and develop new software or new feature in existing software using Object oriented coding language Java. Perform code reviews of the peers ensuring software engineering best practices are followed. Perform tests at various levels to maintain a good health of the existing software. Perform testing by writing unit tests and end to end tests to build robust software. Work on supporting on-call rotation and effectively resolving production incidents.  Perform system design reviews with peers ensuring simple, robust and efficient systems. Perform software change deployments and ensure safe releases of the new features and software. Participate in sprint planning, spring review and sprint demo.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or related area.

Skills required: Experience designing and implementing Rest API services using Java. Experience with coding knowledge in an object-oriented programming language including C++, python or Java. Experience in test-driven development. Experience in writing tests using Junit or Mockito. Experience designing and testing Relational Database Management Systems including DB2, MYSQL or JDBC. Experience working with NoSQL Databases including MongoDB, Elastic Search, or Cassandra. Experience using front-end technologies including React or Angular. Experience using source code management tools including Git or Gitlab for version control and deployments. Experience performing code reviews. Experience working in an Agile development environment. Experience being on support rotation/call for products. Experience with Software development requirement gathering using Jira. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
