Position: Software Engineer III
Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Design, build, and maintain high performant APIs and software services to support AdTech in Walmart. Participate in code deployments and on-call rotations to monitor and troubleshoot issues. Collaborate with Quality Assurance team, Product team, and other team members to gather and implement the requirements. Ensure maintainability and overall quality of the codebase by writing the unit and integration tests. Migrate existing Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) backend APIs to Java Spring Framework while maintaining functionality and behavior. Troubleshoot and triage bugs or issues and devise effective solutions to fix the underlying cause and prevent recurrence. Follow software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum, to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. Utilize continuous integration and deployment tool Jenkins to automate build, test, and deploy processes.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.
Skills required: Experience coding using an object-oriented programming language. Experience creating and implementing REST API web services using Java. Experience with software development methodologies including Agile and Scrum. Experience using continuous integration and deployment tool Jenkins. Experience working with microservices architecture and frameworks including Spring Boot and Hibernate. Experience utilizing distributed version control system Git. Experience with relational databases, optimizing SQL queries, and designing databases. Experience using Splunk to extract, analyze, and visualize data. Experience testing and troubleshooting using JUnit tests. Experience with scalable system design and architecture principles. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $150,762/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
