CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer III opening for our client in Wilmington, DE. Location: Wilmington, DE Duration: 12 months Overview: The Software Engineer III will provide designs, specify information systems solutions, and provide the highest level technical direction in the development of new or existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. The role will include serving as a principal application designer for critical components and major modifications. This position requires the use of analytical and technical skills, technology, and tools to evaluate client requirements and processes, ensuring solutions are technologically sound. The candidate will be expected to lead and mentor less experienced personnel and contribute both as a leader and individual contributor. Primary Responsibilities: Lead complex systems analysis, design, and development efforts. Act as a key contributor and leader on high-impact projects. Provide technical consulting to assist clients in meeting both short-term and long-term strategic goals. Direct, monitor, and coordinate less experienced resources and development tasks. Collaborate with other development, operations, and technology staff throughout the entire system development lifecycle, including user acceptance testing. Review and prepare test data, execute detailed test plans, and conduct debugging. Evaluate interrelationships and effects of complex systems and applications. Prepare and review technical and functional specifications and system documentation. Assess required tasks, estimated time frames, and effort for project scope. Ensure efficient operation of supported applications. Recommend new technologies, policies, and processes to enhance the organization’s operations. Follow and promote best practices in development standards and procedures. Provide leadership and guidance in technical evaluations of vendor software. Maintain high technical knowledge of development environments and client applications. Assist in the preparation of expense and capital budgets. Monitor and provide performance evaluations for team members. Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements and escalate risk-related issues to management. Support diversity and uphold the organization's brand and internal control standards. Scope of Responsibilities: The Software Engineer III works independently on high-level systems analysis and technical development tasks. The position may involve managing the activities of others on projects and monitoring their performance. The engineer will play a role in developing less experienced staff and will interact with senior management, other technology personnel, clients, and vendors. The position may also involve serving as a technical representative on committees and ad-hoc projects. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Provides oversight to less experienced personnel and coordinates development tasks for projects of varying scope. Monitors and evaluates team member performance. May prepare and conduct performance reviews for team members. Education and Experience Required: Associate’s degree with 6 years of systems analysis/application development experience or a combined minimum of 8 years of higher education/work experience, with at least 6 years in systems analysis/application development. Hands-on experience with .NET, Angular (or similar JavaScript-based frameworks). Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, YAML, and DevOps toolsets such as Git, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and Artifactory. Strong experience with software development tools and platforms. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities from a project management perspective. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet deadlines. Strong organizational, time management, and lateral thinking skills. Education and Experience Preferred: Mastered understanding of the Bank's application framework. Subject matter expertise in business processes, particularly with knowledge of Institutional Financial Products (preferably Collateralized Loan Obligations). Experience working autonomously and as part of a team on complex projects. Advanced knowledge of integrated applications and their interrelationships. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
