Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience. Practical knowledge of mobile app architecture, flow, design, implementation, and release.Proficiency in developing Android applications using Kotlin, leveraging the Android SDK and associated libraries with a strong understanding of their ecosystems and frameworks.Experience with Jetpack Compose or traditional Android Views for building user interfaces. Familiar with design principles - experience in MVVMComprehend requirements and convert drawings and wireframes into code.Experience with Retrofit, OkHttp, or Volley for handling network operations. Proficiency in using Room, SQLite, or Realm for local data storage and management.Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.Familiarity with RESTful APIs and XML is required to link the app to backend services. Experience with version control systems like Git.Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.Hands on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring boot, Micro-Services, & Oracle. Proficiency PL/SQL and Database development.Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience with Kotlin and modern Android development practices.Experience in cloud engineering including Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS.Knowledge of Coroutines, Flows etc.Experience with testing frameworks such as Espresso or JUnit.
