Position Summary...Walmart ecommerce sites handle thousands of visitors and millions of transactions per day. Marketplace is one of the key areas for Walmart ecommerce where third party sellers can manage their items, fulfil customer orders and manage lot of other seller journeys. When such critical marketplace services are not working properly, hundreds of thousands of dollars are lost and it can set a bad seller experience. To maintain a healthy marketplace for our sellers, Marketplace DevOps team is keenly focused on various KPIs and get into multiple insights.
If you are someone with good understanding on micro services based distributed systems with lot of API calls and comfortable in understanding various factors influencing Operational Excellence, then this role definitely excites you.

About Team:
Our team collaborates with Walmart Marketplace Dev, TechOps teams and other cross collaboration for overall reliability of the systems.

What you'll do:

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Software Engineering and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrityProvides and supports the implementation of business solutions.Understand various Operational Excellence (OE), Engineering Metrics (EE) KPIs/Metrics.Contribute to Walmart internal tooling and automation  Support development of innovative ideas Coordinate with other global teams like Dev, SRE and Ops to drive improvement.Maintain good communication with other stakeholders and partnersBuild tools to add efficiency over ongoing mundane tasks using latest ML, AI tech stack  

What you'll bring:

BS/MS in Computer Science or related field 4 to 7 years of experience building tools, solutions  Solid understanding of computer science principles Excellent Soft SkillsWorking exposure in AI ML area will be given preferenceUnderstanding the algorithms, design patterns and data structures.Strong skills in writing clean code using languages like Python OR Java / J2EE technologies. Understanding how to engineer the RESTful, Micro ServicesWorking experience on databases like  MySQL, Oracle, SOLR, NoSQL - Cassandra, Mango DB and Hive.Attitude to thrive in a fun, fast-paced start-up like environment.Good to have working knowledge of web technologies such as HTML5, CSS(SCSS, LESS), JSON, Object oriented Java script, React, Redux, NodeJS, Ecma Script 6+, D3.js, Java Scrip Charting libraries, Angular JS, Webpack, Jasmine, Mocha, Enzyme, Lint, Jest testing framework.Good to have knowledge / working experience in infrastructure or systems understanding including operational metrics
