As a Software Engineer III, AWS, Terraform at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Technology line of business, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

 

Job responsibilities

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Proficient in coding in one or more languages - Golang and Terraform Hands-on applied experience with AWS services  Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Demonstrated knowledge of software design principles and patterns as wells as experience implementing solutions using various software architectures such as modular monoliths and micro-services Excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills Hands-on experience with one or modern front-end technologies such as React, Angular or NextJs and their corresponding state management solutions  Hands-on experience managing public cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform (IaC developer, SRE and Acceleration roles) Experience migrating applications to the public cloud (Acceleration roles)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience in designing and maintaining API / event driven architectures. Experience in building and maintaining cloud native software solutions including advanced knowledge of managing infrastructure as code Should possess the "SRE mindset" - Automation focus, proactive and data driven, customer centric (SRE roles)
