Software Engineer III - Kafka Connect Streaming

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector aligned under the Application, Integration and Streaming Product Line, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role. **Job responsibilities** + Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting + Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance + Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications + Participates in, design and develop scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams + Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting + Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems + Produces or contributes to architecture and design artifacts for applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development + Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems + Identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture + Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies **Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills** + Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience. + Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. + Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages. + Expertise in designing and developing Enterprise level J2EE applications. + Expertise in Sprint-boot, Hibernate, Java 11/17, Oracle/Postgres/Mysql. + Strong command over Unix and maven. + Experience in building automation using REST APIs in Java/Python. + Experience in designing and building secure Kafka platform at enterprise scale. + Experience in designing & developing products/platforms on AWS. + Experience with development and continuous deployment in an agile work environment using CI-CD tools like Jenkins. + Able to solve complex problems using dynamically scalable infrastructure products based solutions **Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills** + Cloud certifications are a bonus. + Hands on experience with Kubernetes and Docker. + Knowledge in Kafka Connect, KSQL and KStreams. + Experience in monitoring and visualizing tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana. + Working knowledge of networking - VPCs, Transit Gateways, firewalls, load balancers, etc. + Experience in Python (Fast API) is an advantage.
