Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Software Engineer Intern to join our team! In this role you will get to contribute to the development of a toolset that leverages HPC resources to provide an enduring capability for data ingestion, exploration, analytics, and reporting over potentially large, heterogeneous datasets.

What You'll Be Doing:

The intern will contribute to the development of a toolset that leverages HPC resources to provide an enduring capability for data ingestion, exploration, analytics, and reporting over potentially large, heterogeneous datasets. They will likely be involved in one or more of following focus points.

#1- Analysis- intern will:

Become familiar with the test data domainConduct data explorationDetermine a set of appropriate data elements and analytic techniquesDevelop explainable machine learning modelsGeneralize those models

#2- Scaling of workflows- the intern will:

Prototype various configurations for scaling up existing analytical workflows on the HPC systemsEvaluating the approaches for effectiveness and performance

#3- Operations- the intern will:

Become familiar with the existing toolset and processesBecome familiar with existing ML work, study best practices and tools for ML operationsConvert existing analysis into workflowsImplement appropriate approaches to productionize the work into deployed ML models and data products

Some programming knowledgeGeneral problem solving skills

Statistics and data analysis knowledgeLinux familiarity, operating in the Unix terminalPython programming experienceBasic data science, machine learning knowledge and/or courseworkSoftware engineering experience (e.g. standing up web servers, working with Docker containers)

Salary Range: 

$21.44 - $37.55
