Job Description:

The Java Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for Satellite Ground Systems. This role requires collaboration with systems engineers, hardware designers, and other software engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:Design, implement, and test Java-based applications for satellite ground systems.Modify and enhance existing code as needed.Utilize unit testing tools such as JUnit.Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment.Leverage CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.Integrate tools like Jenkins and Python scripting.Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).Minimum 2 years of experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment.Proficiency with Git and Atlassian Tool Suite.Experience with unit testing tools (e.g., JUnit).Preferred Skills:Familiarity with UML/Design Patterns.Security+ certification.AWS Cloud experience or certification.Experience in automated testing environments.Key Performance Indicators:Deliver work within specified cost and schedule.Demonstrate ability to work independently while contributing to an Agile team.Culture:Agile team environment with an emphasis on individual contributions.Additional Information:Job Type: Full-time, Contract-to-Hire (C, CTH).Compensation: Hourly.Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizen.
