Job Description

A rapidly expanding health technology company is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Software Lead to spearhead the development of innovative healthcare solutions. This role requires a versatile leader who can manage the technical aspects of development, mentor a team of engineers, and contribute directly to the software codebase. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and leadership qualities, with the ambition to eventually grow into the Chief Technology Officer role. As the Software Lead, you will oversee the development and scaling of our core products, including the Connect, Bridge, and platforms, alongside our flagship device MouthLab. These products provide real-time patient monitoring and comprehensive chronic disease management solutions for healthcare providers and nursing facilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to drive the development of scalable and high-quality software products.

ResponsibilitiesOversee the development and scaling of core products, including MouthLab, Connect, Bridge, and platforms.Manage and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring high productivity and collaboration.Contribute directly to the software codebase, balancing 50% coding and 50% leadership duties.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, data scientists, and product managers.Drive the development of scalable, high-quality software products.Ensure the integration of software with medical devices and healthcare platforms.Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, continuous testing, and site reliability.Essential SkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.7+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development.Expertise in front-end technologies like ReactJS, Redux, HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks.Strong back-end skills in Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.Experience working with AWS Cloud Technologies (EC2, Lambda, EBS, S3) to build scalable cloud infrastructure.Proven experience managing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring site reliability.Passion for coding and developing innovative solutions for real-world problems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with mobile application development using React Native, iOS, and Android.Experience with healthcare platforms and EMR integration (e.g., PointClickCare, MatrixCare).Understanding of AI and machine learning technologies, particularly their applications in healthcare analytics.Proven leadership experience in managing software teams, ideally in a fast-growing or startup environment.Regulatory experience in developing FDA-approved medical device software is a plus.Work Environment
