Job Description
The Software Engineer position within the Product Development, Science and Technology organization is responsible for the design, development and testing of embedded software for electro-mechanical medical devices. This role requires a strong foundation in software engineering principles and the ability to apply them to solve complex engineering problems.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, debug, test and provide aftermarket support for software on an embedded medical device.Interface, integrate, troubleshoot and debug software that is tightly coupled to the hardware.Contribute to requirements definition at the functional level.Participate in design reviews and provide feedback related to software.Write product development documentation including functional specifications, design documents and test procedures.Execute manual or automated tests for verification and validation.Design, develop and test software tools used to manufacture the product.Work with hardware engineering and manufacturing to resolve software issues.Drive improvements to product and process quality and efficiency.Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical EngineeringMinimum 6 years of experience with programming embedded systems using C/C++Must have experience with real-time software. Experience with real-time operating systems is helpful.Must have some familiarity with electronic circuits and reading schematics and be willing to work with software that is tightly coupled to the hardware.Must have experience with microcontrollers such as ARM.Must be willing to write, debug and test software that runs directly on a processor without an operating system. Experience with bare metal programming is preferred.Must be willing to work in a regulated industry and work through associated overhead.Result-oriented, self-motivated and able to function as both team member and individual contributor.
Preferred:
Experience with Python or other scripting languages is preferred.Familiarity with in-circuit debugger like JTAG is preferred.Proficiency with Git for configuration management is preferred.Experience with developing event driven, multi-threaded applications is helpful.Candidates who enjoy working with Arduino or Raspberry Pi are encouraged to apply.Additional Information

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
