We are looking for a Software Engineer with a background in software development ERP and legacy systems to support a major UK Government programme from locations throughout the UK.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY
You will lead a transition team responsible for the Operations Domain, focusing on large-scale Legacy to Oracle SAAS SCM programmes. Working closely with the programme delivery manager, fellow domain specialists, external partners, and customer teams, you will plan and execute the technical strategy for knowledge transfer and successful transition. You will undertake the following activities:
Analysis of complex application landscapes and technical requirements;Direction and participation in knowledge transfer activities from the incumbent team;Provision of technical leadership and guidance to your transition team and broader stakeholders;Assessment of support, maintenance, and development processed with a focus on efficiency and service continuity;Creation of comprehensive technical specifications and documentation;Planning, estimation, and scheduling of transition tasks;Collaboration with customer teams to ensure successful handover and ongoing operations.PROFILE
Required Skills:
Excellent communication skills for managing stakeholder relationships during transition periods;Strong analytical skills for assessing existing application landscapes;In-depth knowledge and experience with Oracle SAAS SCM solutions including Product Hub, Order Management, Procurement Management, Inventory Management, and Warehouse Management;Strong understanding of Oracle Finance Applications and their integration points;Experience with commercial platforms including eProcurement, supplier portal, and product portals;Expertise in Oracle integration tools, particularly Oracle Integration Cloud Service (OICS);Working proficiency with .NET, scripting languages, and XML technologies;Strong documentation skills including creating transition plans and technical specifications;Experience with Agile delivery methodologies in complex software environments.Desired Skills:
Experience planning and executing knowledge transfer during large-scale system transitions;Experience leading transition teams in enterprise environments;Background in managing transitions from legacy systems to Oracle Cloud solutions;Experience with XML-based integration standards, particularly PEPPOL;Experience with legacy system support and development using Oracle DBA, EDI;Knowledge of VMS DCL for analysis and development;Excellent communication skills for managing stakeholder relationships during transition periods;Ability to translate technical complexities into business terms for stakeholders;Background in operating and supporting business-critical ERP environments;Experience implementing and supporting Oracle Cloud solutions in regulated industries.This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have (or be able to acquire) BPSS clearance.
