Job DescriptionAs part of the Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS), in this position, you will be a individual team member of Identity and Access Management Platform Team contributing to the backend development of B2C IAM to enable secure access to Visa digital solutions through all types of channels – web, mobile, and device. You will be a key contributor to the innovations in the B2C Consumer and Device spaces. The position is based in Austin, TX, USA.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop enhancements and modifications to existing software and guides the development of code that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.
Engages with product engineering teams and product owners across teams by leading code/design reviews, hosting regular design and architecture meetings, and participating in on-call rotations and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
Leverages backend technical expertise on underlying systems/platforms across teams and analyses to propose scalable improvements in code, processes, and designs with an emphasis on customer/business objectives
Help and guide team members to apply and interpret metrics to drive the quality and stability of code, as well as appropriate coding patterns, guidelines, styles, and best practices. Provides guidance to team on the security assessment process to ensure code is free from threat or risk.
Coaches and guides team members to review code for a product feature to ensure it meets high quality standards, is reliable and correct, and is appropriate for the scale of the product. Helps to define best practices and continuously improve standards, is accountable for the quality of the code, leverages best practice from other products (e.g. design patterns, coding, testing), and provides feedback to ensure coding standards are followed. Removes blockers to ensure pull requests are being reviewed, and addresses questions from team about the pull request process as needed
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- In-depth knowledge in web services standards and related technologies, REST API, Microservices, Containers
- Solid understanding of database technologies including SQL, JPA
- Minimum Four years of experience working with container-based technologies.
- Minimum Five years of experience building and testing enterprise-scale web services.
- Minimum Five years of experience in enterprise product development.
- Minimum Five years of experience in leading project teams.
- Minimum Five years of experience working on internal or client-facing project or technical teams
- Proficiency with Agile Development Techniques
- Experience in Web development is a plus
- Experience in Identity solutions like oAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, security tokens (JWS, JWE, access token, id token) or other IAM is a big plus
- Minimum of four years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,200.00 to 207,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).
