Summary:

Are you a tech-savvy student or recent graduate with a passion for operational research and cloud technologies? Blue Yonder is seeking a Software Engineering Intern with strong technical skills to join our dynamic team in Dallas, TX. As an operational research-focused intern, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to Optimization solvers, Software development and related activities, specifically in Azure. Your skills and passion can make a significant impact!

What you will do:

Collaborate with experienced team members to contribute to the development of optimization solvers and other software development Design, code, debug and performs development activities in accordance with designated standards and procedures. Contribute to architecture and designs to become simpler, more robust, and more efficient. Provide early visibility and mitigation to technical challenges through the journey. Work closely with the team to identify and prioritize tasks from the backlog. Engage in key team activities including backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Participate in code and design reviews to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success. Learn and contribute to the team's continuous integration pipeline, ensuring the stability of the development environment. Strive for code readability and maintainability, actively seeking ways to improve code quality. Develop a deep understanding of the problem domain your team is tackling. 

What we are looking for:

Applicant must be local to the Dallas areaCurrently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM field. Working knowledge of Python, Java, Springboot, Maven, GIT, Rest API. Working knowledge in optimization theories and methods, including LP, MILP, combinatorial optimization, scheduling, and especially heuristic and metaheuristic algorithms (genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, tabu search, particle swarm optimization). Understanding of cloud infrastructure environments Experience with Infrastructure as Code in cloud environments. Working knowledge of cloud environments, with a focus on Azure. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills with a systematic approach to problem-solving.
