Overview Software Engineering Summer Intern-Device Verification SW Panasonic Avionics Corporation – Irvine, CA   Panasonic Avionics takes entertainment to new heights. We’re the world’s leading supplier of (IFEC) in-flight entertainment and communications systems that allow passengers access to live TV, movies, music, interactive games, maps, and much more!   We are looking for motivated, driven, and collaborative Software Engineering Interns to join a talented team that conducts research, design and development of software running on Linux to power our latest products. Device Verification SW group is responsible to provide manufactory and diagnostic service software products for Panasonic Avionics Devices. This paid internship will start in May/June and continue through August/September 2025, with an opportunity to potentially continue through the school year.    Responsibilities How will you spend your summer: Interns will have an opportunity to work on multiple projects during the course of the internship under the guidance of the Senior Engineers. Potential projects include sensor-based embedded system project for better production efficiency, distributed test system and networked equipment automation projects to improve product life time and maintainability. Qualifications What you bring to the internship: Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree who will be a Junior or Senior in Fall 2025 Preferably Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students pursuing Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) degree Ability to work cooperatively with others, take verbal as well as written instructions and communicate instructions as needed. Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally to all levels of the organization as well as external customers. Generally, applies existing practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data. Ability to handle multiple tasks. Knowledge of embedded hardware and software development. Familiar with IoT and pub-sub framework. Experience with sensing and machine learning application, for example gesture recognition. Preferred Skills Embedded computing device, e.g. Arduino IoT framework, e.g. MQTT Docker, Linux C/C++, Python, JS The hourly wage range for this position is $28- $35.  The final offer amount may vary and is based on the candidates' year in school.
