Internship Program at WM
We at WM are grounded in our People First commitment which is reflected in our culture and values. Our Internship Program at WM is a 12-week paid program focused on supporting your education with experiential learning. As a WM Intern, you will interact with and conduct various duties and responsibilities for one or more functional teams to develop new skills and learn new areas of the business. Interns gain practical experience, relevant to their field of study, prior to college graduation. In addition, interns are given the opportunity to network with business leaders and receive mentorship throughout the program.
The Intern position is within WM’s Digital group and will consist of two six-week immersion experiences across departments including: Software Engineering Design, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS). Interns will generally work as part of a team within the Digital group, but may also work in larger, cross-functional teams that include members from groups such as: Corporate Development & Innovation; Marketing; Operations; People; Sustainability; Marketing; and Legal.
Intern project topics, exposure and activity will be selected based on the Intern’s interest areas, prior professional experience and the needs of the Digital group, and the position will include opportunities for exposure to WM’s core businesses. A successful candidate must be willing and able to build relationships and reach out to other groups within WM to gather information.

I. Job Summary
The role will be working in the Digital organizations post collections group, which is responsible for providing a complaint and environmentally beneficial mechanism for material disposal in WM's international landfill network. Interacts with and conducts various duties and responsibilities for one or more functional teams in order to develop new skills and learn new areas of the business. Interns gain practical experience, relevant to their field of study, prior to college graduation.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Uses problem solving skills, determines problems, and understand fundamental parts of the problem. Conducts analysis as directed, and prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis. Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager. Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements. Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility. III. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory duties.

A. Education and Experience
Education: Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing a Bachelor's degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship. Completed Course Work Hours: 60.0
Experience: No prior work experience required.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Must be available to participate in the 12-week internship program from start to finish. Must be available to work 40 hours per week/standard working hours. Must have completed at least two years of college and be enrolled as a college student in the spring of 2025.C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
