About the Role
The Telematics Solution position will report into the HARMAN Engineering organization and will be responsible for researching and the delivering softwares, POCs for automotive embedded devices, which are both consumer and automotive grade products.
Telematics is the key foundational technology for the connected car and autonomous driving. It includes technology like LTE modems and network access devices (NADs) as well as wireless standards e.g. BT/WiFi, GNSS, NFC etc. are one of the fastest growing areas. HARMAN works with leading suppliers to design telematics solutions to ensure every in-car experience is entertaining, productive, safe, and secure.
As part of an agile team, you will research and build the software on telematics devices with state-of-the-art technologies and features like communication, networking, and positioning . You will be on a path finding mission to enable and create new business in the Telematics domain. Will be part of highly visible demos; and lead effort to bring the product and solutions to market. Your responsibilities include design, development/coding, build, debug, and modify software enhancements and new products development.
What You Will Do
Function as single point of contact for delivery of V2X projects executed out of BucharestManage bottom line delivery responsibility for both delivery and technical management of activities.Technically drive the complete development of V2X project, guide and track overall team activities for multiple featuresGood mix of technical and project management skills for Technical Manager roleDevelop scalable, maintainable, well mannered (CPU, memory, disk, power, network) automotive grade Linux applications with C, C++ for embedded platformsUnderstand business requirements, associate them with agile entities (stories/tasks) for planning and execution.Build and grow technical expertise across Telematics/V2X domainsWhat You Need
Masters/Bachelors degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering or a similar disciplineShould have 12 - 15 years of overall experience in Automotiave/Datacom/Telecom.Strong C++ programming with 5+ years of experience and good understanding of design patternsApt at developing reusable and scalable C, C++ code.Proficient understanding of STL (Standard Template Library): containers and algorithms.Hands on working experience with Linux on an embedded platformExperience with Network and System Programming on Embedded devicesProven project management experiencePrevious experience with people management and should be able to manage a team of 6 members.Previous experience in Requirement analysisExperience in dealing with customers, negotiating requirements, timelines.Ability to work independently and drive a team for complete project.Design features and components using OOP concepts using tools like Enterprise ArchitectPreferred experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment using standard tools such as Gdb, Valgrind, wireshark etcGood understanding of Linux Inter Process Communication mechanisms (sockets, message queues, shared memory)Concepts and techniques for Multithreaded applicationsState Machine ImplementationWorking experience withIndustry standard version control systems like GIT, Gerrit, PerforceGtest based C++ unit test framework.Open Embedded, bitbake package managementExcellent troubleshooting and debugging skillsGood written and oral communication skills to collaborate with teams across geographiesWhat Makes You Eligible
