As the Software Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented C++ developers working to improve and enhance LayOut.  You’ll support career development for the team and add strategic hires. You’ll also be a key stakeholder in the direction of the product, working closely with Product Management and QA to ensure we continue to deliver valuable improvements to our customers. 

Key Responsibilities:

Grow the engineering team by hiring great engineers that deliver high quality capabilities for the business.

Work closely with Product Management in estimating, identifying risks/dependencies and enabling your team to deliver integrated, high-quality software solutions.

Create clear career paths for team members and help them grow with regular, in-depth mentoring.

Work with senior engineers on the team to build out technical roadmaps that enable the growth of the business and keep the technical stack reliable and stable.

Perform regular 1:1s to share and seek feedback.

Have high technical competence and a strong technical background with a track record of 

individual technical accomplishments which can be used to guide the team.


 

Required Skills/Experience:

Minimum 5 years of Software Engineering experience with knowledge of all phases of SDLC, having spent at-least last 2 years in leading & managing development teams using Agile methodologies

Strong skills in critical thinking and analysis, both on a strategic and operational level, structured working style with the ability to plan and organize

Intercultural awareness and strong interpersonal skills (e.g., networking, partnering, conflict management, consulting, etc.)

BS/BA degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience

Experience and/or strong interest in design, graphics, 3D software

Cross-platform development

3 or more years of C++ development experience

Bonus Skills/Experience:

Hands-On Software Development and/or Feature Design

Use of Design Patterns

Experience with Qt
